Benefit for Jen Gallacher Family

The dreaded "C" word. Cancer.
I can't imagine as a mother hearing the news that your child has cancer.
This is reality for Joey Gallacher, Jen's 12 year old son.

I can't even wrap my brain around it, but as a mother, my heart aches for Jen and her family.
God has been nudging me to help make a difference for Jen's family. A fundraiser of sorts.
I know words of encouragement, money, gifts, etc----none of it will erase their pain and Joey's suffering. But it will all help lighten the burden as they live out their worse nightmare.

If you are unaware of what I am referring to, you can read what Jen posted recently in the Pub at www.twopeasinabucket.com.
I wasn't sure I should post this on such a great day for tooting and
sharing all the great news, but since I have had so much love and support from
the Peas I thought I'd better. Joey was released from the hospital last Tuesday.
His cancer is considered terminal, and they believe they have done all they can
for him. We are devastated. Parents should raise their children to live and have
good lives not prepare them for what I'm going to have to do. He was heartbroken
and is NOT ready to give up. That makes me happy, and we will do whatever we can
to help him with that. He's receiving radiation for his latest tumor in his
rectum and has quite a bit of pain. He had lots of moments of delirium in the
hospital. So scary! He hasn't eaten food in a month but receives nutrition
through his IV so that's all right. He sleeps most of the time, which is
probably both the cancer and the morphine. I miss talking to him and seeing him
enjoying life, but I don't want him to suffer. I'm just so grateful for the
support and love of all of you. Thank you for your positive thoughts, e-mails,
prayers, and gifts and cards. We have felt stronger than ever and I know why. I
will let you know how things go in the future. They give him weeks to months to
live. He might just hang on a little longer, cute boy! I'll take whatever time I
can get. ----Jen Gallacher

I have set up a paypal account to accept funds on Jen's behalf. ALL MONEY DONATED WILL BE SENT DIRECTLY TO THE GALLACHER FAMILY. Donations will be accepted until May 1.

As a thank you for donating, I will be rounding up donations, products, celebrity scrappers to scrap your photos, etc. For every $1 you donate, your name will be entered in a drawing for one of the prize packages. So if you donate $25, your name will be entered into the drawing 25 times.

I am still in the process of rounding up participants to donate to the cause and will update this blog with the details as they roll in.

So, what can you do????
1. If you or anyone you know is willing to donate a prize of any kind, please email me at benefitforjen@yahoo.com
2. To donate to Jen’s fund, please click on the following donate button. All proceeds go to Jen and her family.

If you don't have a paypal account, sign up for one at www.paypal.com -----it is a VERY easy process that will take about 3 minutes.
3. Spread the word!!!
4. Continue to pray for Joey.

and from the bottom of my heart, I thank you.
